Melanie & Service Dog Freedom

Melanie was home alone and cooking dinner when a fire started on the stove. Trying to put it out, Melanie fell out of her wheelchair and lay on the floor, putting out her hair which had caught on fire. Freedom ran to the other room and brought back the cordless phone. Melanie was able to call 911 and the firemen arrived before any serious damage occurred. Melanie was amazed that Freedom lay by her side the entire time, despite the room filling with smoke. "He is my hero," says Melanie.
